Rocky Day

Rocky Familydays on the Niederhorn!

Our Rocky Days take place every first Saturday between May and October! On this day you can meet our cheeky ibex “Rocky” on the Niederhorn. Both in the morning and in the afternoon, families can discover the alpine orienteering course “Rocky's Path”. At the end of the orienteering event, every child can look forward to receiving a small award, which will be presented by Rocky himself.

All children up to the age of 16 can ride the Niederhornbahn free of charge on Rocky Day! So come along and discover the family world on the Niederhorn. Rocky is looking forward to seeing you!

Programm Rocky Days:

An exciting adventure awaits you on the Niederhorn during Rocky Days! Rocky, our cheeky ibex, will greet all the children at the Niederhorn mountain station and hand out the Alpen-OL maps for the Rocky's Trail. As a family, you can then discover and complete the Rocky's Trail, which takes about half an hour and has nine different posts. Rocky accompanies the children for a section of the trail at the beginning. At the end of the trail (Niederhorn mountain station), Rocky welcomes all the children back and presents each of them with a small award - a special souvenir of the day. Of course, Rocky also takes time for a souvenir photo.

Depending on how you would like to organize your day on the Niederhorn, you can complete the Alpine orienteering course either in the morning or in the afternoon.

Morning

10.30 am Meeting point with Rocky at the Niederhorn mountain station

10.30 - 11.30 am Experience Rocky's Alpen-OL trail (independently)

11.30 - 12.00 am Award ceremony for the Alpen-OL experts and souvenir photos with Rocky at the Niederhorn mountain station

Afternoon

2.00 pm Meeting point with Rocky at the Niederhorn mountain station

2.00 - 3.00 pm Experience Rocky's Alpen-OL trail (independently)

3.00 - 3.30 pm Award ceremony for the Alpen-OL experts and souvenir photos with Rocky at the Niederhorn mountain station

After the alpine orienteering, younger kids can discover the marble run or the playground on the Niederhorn. If you would like to experience a short hike with the kids, you can complete the more difficult Alpine orienteering from the Niederhorn to Vorsass and visit a barbecue stand along the way. For older kids, we recommend a scooter-bike descent from Vorsass to Beatenberg. Here the kids can discover two different scooter routes together with Rocky or Happy.

Tip: Would you like to take a souvenir of this day with you? You can buy a Rocky cuddly toy or a Rocky bag at the Niederhornbahn ticket office.

Playground

The playground with the nicest view! But who cares about the view, if there is so much to discover. For example, a balance trail, a wobbly bridge or the giant marble run. They can make children’s eyes sparkle. And those of the grown-ups as well. If your kids are romping about on the playground, there is time to relax and snatch a few moments of peace and quiet.

Alpine Orienteering Hike

This is hiking turned thrilling! Equipped with an orienteering hike map, visitors large and small alike set out on the path to find the various posts. Four routes with varying degrees of difficulty are waiting to be discovered.
