When the winter landscape glows in the moonlight, the lantern hike from Niederhorn to Vorsass is particularly impressive.
Start your evening with a fondue in the cozy Berghaus Niederhorn. In the soft glow of the lantern, you walk through the silent night surrounded by a breathtaking view of the glittering lights along Lake Thun. To round off the evening, you can make yourself comfortable again in the warmth of the Vorsass mountain restaurant with a fine mulled wine or punch.

Lantern walk

Enjoy a tasty fondue at the Berghaus Niederhorn. Experience a fantastic hike under the stars from the Niederhorn to Vorsass and round off the evening with a mulled wine or punch in the Vorsass mountain restaurant (middle station). This offer includes the train ticket, fondue, mulled wine, lantern and crampons.

Process

Tickets are available at our ticket counters from 5.55 pm. The hiking trail from Niederhorn opens at 6.15 pm. After you have enjoyed your fondue at Berghaus Niederhorn, you can pick up your lanterns and crampons at the Niederhorn mountain station.

Please note that you should set off on the hike from Berghaus Niederhorn by 9.00 pm at the latest.

Important information

  • A reservation is mandatory.
  • For safety reasons, only the Niederhorn - Vorsass winter hiking trail may be used during the night.
  • In case of icy conditions, crampons will be provided (while stocks last)
  • In case of doubtful weather, storm or too few registrations, you will be informed by phone from 1 pm on about the realization.
  • Please refer to the Sternenschlitteln timetable for information on train times (see timetable below).

Registration is compulsory for the lantern walk offer. Tickets are available on site from 5.55 pm.
