Fondue backpack

Your experience starts at the railway ticket office in Beatenberg. There you can collect the fondue backpack lovingly packed by us and the Bärgrestaurant Vorsass. Now you decide which hotspot on the Niederhorn is the most beautiful for you, where you will prepare and enjoy your fondue surrounded by idyllic nature! You can book your fondue backpack experience daily throughout the winter season.

If you are travelling from Beatenbucht, you can buy your tickets there. The rucksack will be handed to you in Beatenberg.

The fondue backpack contains the following items:

• Regional fondue mix
• Fondue bread
• Picnic blanket
• Spices
• Rechaud with windbreak and gas burner
• Caquelon
• Fondue crockery and forks
• Lighter

Please note that the offer does not include drinks. These can be purchased from the Bärgrestaurant Vorsass.

The backpack is for two people. Two backpack are issued for groups of four.

Note: Select the "Date" and the "Start time Beatenberg" in the reservation form. The backpack can be reserved between 9.00 am and 2.30 pm.

Return: We ask you to return the backpack to the Bärgrestaurant Vorsass or the railway station in Beatenberg by 5.30 pm at the latest. If we notice that an item is missing or damaged when you return it, we would like to inform you that this will be charged for.

Our tip

You can also reserve the fondue backpack during the evening trips from July 5 to October 5 every Friday and Saturday evening. Enjoy the tranquillity of nature, the mountain panorama and a beautiful sunset with a delicious fondue.

Note: Select the "Date evening trip" and the "Start time Beatenberg evening trip" in the reservation form. The backpack can be reserved between 5.30 pm and 7.30 pm.

Return: We ask you to return the backpack by 10 pm at the latest. You can hand it directly to the cable car staff when you get off the gondola in Beatenberg or leave it at the "Return Fondue Backpack" customer stop.
